talking bout e stocks market, struck me to share a little bout my BIG dream of PHUA 85 (retiree plan - to open a coffeeshop under some flats in Hougang)... i'm a difficult person, having lots of rules in my life! even for this dream business of mine, i layed some golden rules to tie myself to... mind u, i'm nv a business student..

Phua's 10 Rules of Business:

1. No family member in company - i've seen enuff in my paternal family that how $ can turns things bitter.. if i'm rich, i'll treat u to a nice meal at my kopitiam, if i'm poor, trust me, i wun fuck you for not lending me $.

2. Never get involved with anyone within the business - relationship is a tacky thing, i'm poor in handing it, so i wun touch it... 色字头上一把刀.

3. Do what I know best, the unknown shall be left unknown - its good to be adventurous, but that's not my forte.

4. Be practical, make things happen. Never take things for granted - i'm never a sitting duck.

5. Keeping to my words, even if it means losing money - reputation and pride is everything.

6. What is said, is meant to be heard. What is thought, is meant to be understood.

7. Partnership is not built on trust but on the strength of each other - when it comes to $, trust nobody, i wun even trust myself, i'll let my wife keep my $.

yep, e 3 boys born in oct came to celebrate their bdays at fish & co in JP! haha! we r all so damn old!! anw, jas looked damn funny when she gets all excited seeing e 3 boys having to stand on e chairs, getting e attention from all e patrons at e restaurant for the fish & co bday cheer..

anw... while at library before meeting up for dinner, peifen showed me another qn for this yr's PSLE math paper... wah, this one got kick liao... 3 engineers-to-be, yong han, tung & me... all caught dumbfounded by e question... simply find e angle within the square as shown below:

haha... its not exactly that we cant solve e qn... but somehow... we r not allowed to use many many methods that we had learned, in order to solve e qn, as the is a qn meant for pri sch kids! no trigo rules (means no sin/cos/tan), no similar/congurent triangles, no simultaneous eqn, not even pythagoras theroem is allowed to be applied... we were like... WTF... took more than 15mins on this qn k! try it!

hmm... new analogy came across my life... 'tree'... somehow i really dun like e idea... to a certain extend, its about comparison, n it sucks to be on e judgement scale, not for e fear of e outcome, but e reasons to be on e weighing scale.

ya, anw, since we talked about 'judgement', shall link it to a new talk of e town, bout how "unbelievably tough" e PSLE maths paper was... somehow, i always like to play on e defensive court for e MOE... its nv easy to teach kids nowadays, or even place a judgement point upon them...

so who is to blame? e teachers? e principals? e examiner at e ministry? come on... its a viscious cycle, all those parents who cry father cry mother for their children out there, r all proud products of this country, build based on meritocracy, hence they think that they can cast a judgement point on e ministry, to comment whether e paper too easy or too difficult la... n we know, rite from e start of e education, we r all being graded by exams, to sieve ourselves from e pathetic rest... so y complain when e paper gets harder, plainly because e kids r getting smarter?

smart parents try means to outsmart e education by hiring tutors for their children, so now e education system simply has to outsmart e students so that the grading system can work... so e next coming year, e parents hire more n better tutors for their kids, n e cycle simply continues... juz a reminder to all e 'smart' parents out there, every mother's child is taking e same paper... u all know wats 'normalisation' n 'bell curve' all about rite?

anw... here's one of e qn posted on most of e online news report... i attempted it, yep yep... i'm a engineer-to-be, who deals with maths every fucking single sober minute of my life... took less than 5 mins to solve it... i'm not smart... it has some difficulty for a P6 kid... but definietly a worthy qn to differentiate e A* student...

haha! once again, we celebrated e 24th bday for e oct babies for my NY mates... wah! we really old le horz... all e gals grad liao, left me... grrr....

had a damn hearty bday meal for e night! not exactly that e food was fantastic (this place at B1 of vivo, called greenhouse cafe... if i din rem wrongly...) yep... nice ambience i guess... 1/3 a floral shop, 1/3 a cafe wif coffee & pastries, 1/3 of set meals) wah... de gals damn kuku, treated me like rubbish bin!! keep throwing their food into my plate! scare that they grow fat n will kana ditch by their boyfrens... sob sob... poor me... have to save them from misery... n brought misery upon myself... i get fat for u all k!! quick! call me your 'hero'!

over e past year, din really go anywhere new though... yep, once again, e new ATC team revisited Berkelah Falls at Kuantan (5th time for me...) from 28th - 30th Sept... haha, seriously, nothing new there for me, still that lousy/windy road to Kuantan, same old wan ton mee stall, same old rocks, same old taste of e water, same old peeps (yonghan face is almost in every of my berkelah trips, juz in diff. attire nia), same old A&W... yep, but feels different now... e young ones r really much younger... 6 yrs younger... WTF!

even e place to for photo-taking is still e same...

FOOT 09 is back to e same old place at Perlepah too (12th time...) haha, supposedly e terrain at perlepah is very diff. from e rest, but seriously overdosed for me le... no joke man... its really quite sick to go to 1 place for more than 10 times... how diff also become same liao la!

yet another sick thing that i had done to myself... revisiting Stong in consecutives days, from 9th-12th June, and 13th-16th June (7th time) SI MI LAN JIAO, think i really got nothing better to do sia... 说实话，我真的觉得自己有病！

haha, finally some place that is new for me, yep, treking trip at cameron highland, e land of SOUR strawberry! hmm.... went for e trip cos of e companionship of ru yan n yong han, never had much liking for strawberry to begin with, so never had wanted to go for this trip... luckily me who doesn't take strawberry, think i was e only one who was not disappointed by e sourish taste!

haha, during dec, brought my team to desaru cycling (6th time) and more importantly to eat seafood! wahahahaha!! i love cycling, love e seafood, love e 马蹄酥!!! shall visit that place one more time before i grad! hehez! hmmm if best, hope in e term of e 14th comm, they can come out wif a new cycling route in m'sia!! e 11 hills of terror at desaru already no kick for me liao!

haha, in e year to come, i muz visit Lata, den i'll complete all e places that odac can offer liao!! think that's quite a bo liao aspiration though... FYP sux... wanna plan for grad trip de... end up dun even have any time to do anything bout that.. ROAR!!
