as i continue from the last entry, the many 'first time' just keep coming in the tiger year, not only for me, experiencing something new, but, some new stuff for NTU too. for those who had already left ulu Pulau NTU for all good, the familiar directory board on the left, sadly, due to the upcoming YOG, has been removed by its hippy successor on the right! i like the old one, seems to suit the age ans the facade of the school more.
after spending 3.5 years in school, it was my first ever stepping into these unknown lands for the 'arts' students. its real hard for me to put my feelings in words. where more than 60% of the school fees of NTU are contributed by engineering students, why are we still stuck with the old and run-down lee wee nam library, while these small contributors are getting all the new and better facility! roar!!
and yes, i bet this chinese library is some rubbish initiative by some ah tiong prof, that PRC students needs library to themselves! if you have yet to visit china, try going this library, it's the little china in NTU. (no worries if you like to swear at ah tiongs, there's no need to practise volume control in there.)
after enduring through the torments of 3 quizzes in a week, it was my first time ever joining ATC 10 comm at work! good job for the participants brief, taking the steps well, engaging problems with strides, they will go far.
self-declared off-day, to reward myself of the hard work for the week, aku decide to attend jas' bio lecture just for fun! its my first time ever attending a bio class, never ever touch that subject before, shall give it a try before i leave school.
way before the stem cell class started, jas was complaining bout how terrible the prof can be, speaking with a accent, lecturing without mic at inaudible volume, monotonous and simply uninteresting, that they all suffered like dogs in their learning journey.
seeing is believing, only after attending the lecture, oh pls! come attend an engineering lecture to know what hell is like!

from the picture, we can all well imagine this ang moh prof is somewhat an einstein-wannabe, with unkempt hair-do, wearing only a t-shirt, and real old-school to use a long cane to aid in his lecturing, but trust me, he's way off better than any engineering prof who wears a proper shirt. at the very least, HE SPEAKS ENGLISH!
yes, he does have an accent, pronuncing 'kept' as 'kep', 'bone marrow' as 'bomero', but, have you tried deciphering 'eta' and 'zeta' from the mouth of a prof who can't even 'talk' english and pronounces 'compound' as 'kom pun', 'metal' as 'mee ta', or Van der Waal's forces as '反得华力'? (bet jas must be cursing and swearing at me while reading this post! i really do want to sympathise with your torment in lectures, but engine profs had really set a record-low benchmark for me to have such high tolerance for poor lecturing...)

a biology (stem cells) lecture - HEAVEN
- fully-packed
- ONLY 2 guys per row
- everyone is taking notes
- lectured with aid of LCD monitor (see top pic)
- pure silence, less the prof's voice
a mechanical engine (fluids mechanics) lecture - HELL!!
- quarter-filled
- ONLY 2 gals per row, 1 is a shemale
- we are either eating, chit-chatting, msn-ing, reading soccer news, sleeping, etc, but just not listening
- lectured with aid of 2 OHP projectors
- you hear more of soccer news discussed at the back-row
point no. 4 gets really gets me on my nerves! hello, we are engineers studying in a 'technological' university, supposedly, the creators-to-be for all the sophisticated, high-end equipment of tommorow's world, but yet why are our lectures facilitated with primitive OHP projectors, while bio students get to see clear images over big big LCD screens! ROAR!!!
find the drawing of the mouse by the ang moh prof is so damn cute, can you spot it?
sob sob... yuan jing mei mei is leaving the sunny island for exhange, had a meal with her at Fish & Co. with the rest of the foot comm. loved her presence, somehow, her hysterical laughters just make my days. by the time she returns, i'll have left the school, really do hope to see her around in odac activities. yep, take care!
had a real good time having CNY reunion dinner with ATC 09 & 10 comm together with the old dinosaurs! haha! i love gatherings with good food! darryl, thanks so much for hosting the meal at your kopitiam!
the logistic guys, EXCLUDING chong meng.
its an annual affair to have CNY gathering at ken's place for the AJ peeps. the gals had all moved on to their 3rd year at work, while the guys, had either tasted the evil of the society, or all at the last stage of preparation for the demonic world. and yes, finally i had lost my Ban-Luck streak of 5 years! 赌场失意,情场就快得意咯!
spent one whole hour watching these four dumbass playing some rabbit game on WII, damn entertaining to watch them kao pei each other, just so that their rabbit can bounce around in the game.
